Amy Nottingham is a potter in Riverside, CA, where she creates and teaches from her home studio. Amy also teaches visual arts at the Grove School in Redlands. Her mentors are Brett Mosher, who taught her to make whistles, and David Porras, who taught her to believe she was truly a potter and to never stop challenging herself. Amy has done commission work, sold at art markets and local art shops, exhibited in museum galleries, and shown in juried shows. She loves two things about pottery: throwing, where she experiences meditative strength and peace, and creating unique sculptural pieces that delight people with gifts they might not have ever imagined.

Three exhibiting artists will showcase immersive ceramic installations in dedicated rooms at The Asistencia.
“At its core, my art is about healing. How can a fractured body and a divided mind still be held together? Art can give form to this fragile but necessary hope.”
“Through ceramic sculpture, I spotlight lived moments of emotional and physical violence, inviting viewers into a world that is both familiar and simultaneously unsettling.”
“Ceramics is an art of Experiments. There is so much inspiration and creativity even in pieces that fail, whether because of human error, environmental variables, or just because.”
